Week 3 - Character Design

I followed a course on Domestika by Adeena Grubb on how to make a stop-motion puppet from scratch. This will be my main character in ‘The Dance of No Idea’, known as ‘The Artist”. I designed the character to be a rough copy of myself, so we share similarities like clothing, hair, and profession. Although the process is long, the class is excellently broken into manageable steps that are easy to follow.

I had previously watched the entire course before the start of this class, so I would be familiar with the techniques and gather all the necessary materials and tools. I opted to make the hair from wool instead of felt, and my puppet was much smaller than the one she instructed me to make, but I was successful. Some aspects, like the fingers, were challenging because they were so much smaller.
